Daily Enjoyment

Thursday is Joy Day!  What makes you joyful?  I have been in a bit of a mood this week.  I am not sure why, though.  Nothing major has gone on this week.  My husband has worked 12 hours shifts on Sunday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, plus 9 hours on Tuesday.  He is taking the weekend off, so that will be okay.  I haven't a lot going on this weekend, so that is a plus, too.

Saturday:  I enjoyed SNL on Saturday night.  Betty White was spectacular!

Sunday:  I enjoyed spending Mother's Day with my Mom at a high school musical.

Monday:  I enjoyed spending more time with my mom, dad, Fox, Daughter and Son at our new favorite place, Noodles & Co..  When we got home, Daughter found her bedroom light and fan would not work.  So Foxy checked it out and determined that the switch was bad.  So we called my Dad and he and Mom came over and the men fixed the switch (with Daughter helping) and we had Cheesecake for dessert, as we watched Dancing With the Stars.

Tuesday:  I enjoyed  going for a ride with Daughter, BFF, and Foxy in the Saturn.  We got a good drive in.

Wednesday:  I enjoyed choir practice last night.  We are mainly working on our Patriotic songs for July 4th, our Red, White, & Blue Sunday.  It's a lot of fun to sing all the songs in this book.

Plus, everyday I am enjoying reading comments and new Blogs to read.  I hope you all keep it up!  What are you enjoying this week?

Enjoy!

Yesterday was crazy at work and home.  I left at 7 am yesterday, returned home briefly and went to church and finally got home at 9:30 pm last night.  Wednesdays are my notoriously long day.  Dishes don't get done, but they pile up, the table has mail all over it, but at least I took time last night to fold three loads of laundry.  The piles are still in the laundry basket, but it's a start.

Thursdays I ask, what havfe you enjoyed this week.  I think we should all stop and smell the roses more.  So, here is what I have enjoyed.

1.  I have enjoyed reading all your blogs.  It's fun to have new friends!

2.  I have enjoyed teaching Daughter to drive.  She's got a ways to go, but she is learning.  She drove home in the dark last night.  She did pretty well.

3.  I am enjoying my book.  It is by Danielle Steele and it's called Big Girl.  It's really good.  I have read all but one of her books and this book is in my top five of hers.

4.  I am enjoying all the sunshine we have been seeing.

What are you enjoying?  Let me know!

Pictures of Enjoyment

People don't learn to enjoy pictures because they seldom look at them; and they seldom look at pictures because they have never learnt to enjoy them.

Today is what I call "Here is what I am enjoying this week" post.

I know, I know, I need a pedicure badly.  But it is so nice to wear flip flops!

This is Josie Belle.  She is enjoying being out on the grass on her chain in the sunshine.  She totally loves it out there!  I love seeing her happy.

I also enjoyed finishing The Time Traveler's Wife.  It was a really good book.

Goodby and Enjoy!

Here is what I have enjoyed this week.
1.  This has been a fast week.

2. Plenty of sunshine.  We are 10 degrees warmer on average for the month of April.  But, the pollen count is 16 times what it should be too.  Poor people with allergies.

3.  I am still enjoying the books I am reading.  I am reading The Time Traveller's Wife and The Shack.

4.  I enjoyed GLEE on Tuesday evening.

5.  This week, I have gone out at lunch time and enjoyed the weather.  It has been nice.  Not something I would normally do, but I think I have a touch of fever...SPRING FEVER!

Now I have one more item to touch on.  I am sad.  Last night was the last time I would see new adventures of her life.  Her trials, frustrations, loves, losses, and especially her optimistic view on life in general.  Betty Suarez was an inspiration to me.  The show was kooky, and I loved looking at the fashion industry through a magazine.  Goodbye, Betty.  I will miss you and your friends.

Enjoy the Day

My enjoyments of this week have been...

1.  Seeing how great Daughter has done after her surgery.  Praise God!

2.  The sunshine and 70 degree, sunny weather.  I love that I get to use my sunglasses!

3.  I am reading The Time Traveller's Wife.  I haven't seen the movie yet, but this book is really amazing!

4.  Being really busy at work.  I actually left after 5 pm a couple of times.

What are your enjoyments this week?

Oh, and we are enjoying these too...

This is an edible arrangement that Daughter received.  It was scrumptious!

These beautiful flowers were from our church family.  The yellow has given Foxy the idea of painting the trim in this room that color of yellow.  The walls are a blue.  It is called Salute Blue.  What do you all think?  I think it is an interesting idea.

Complaints and Enjoying the weekend.

Sorry for the non-post yesterday. Between the home computer dying, choir practice and the doctor's appointments, it just didn't happen.  Things this week are starting to run together.  Have you ever heard of a fifteen year old having gall stones?  Well it is very possible Daughter has at least one.  Dr. Chiropractor took X-rays and showed us what looked like one.  Well there is family history of young females having their gall bladders taken out.  Not this young, but under 35.  So it may be weird, but not unheard of.

Today has been crazy at work.  First, the person who covers my lunch break and when I go get lunches has been out most of the day.  She had to get her car fixed.  I didn't think anything about it until I realized I needed someone to cover for me so I could go get lunches.  Then it was like a frenzy to get someone to sit here.   Then they complained that it too me too long.  Well, we had talked earlier and I told them I had to also put gas in the car and put air in the tires.  But I was still gone less than 30 minutes.

Also, a VP asked me to order pizza for his meeting.  I did so at 930, specifically asking for the food to be delivered at noon.  At noon-thirty, it had not arrived.  So now I look like an idiot that can't order pizza.  The nameless joint, IMHO, forgot about us.  I called twice, but I feel this is looking bad on me.  I did my part that may be irrelevant.  I hate days like this.

What have I been enjoying this week?  It's been a hard week.  I keep falling asleep like around 9:30 pm or so.  I seem to have been gone almost every night this week.  The weather today is beautiful and it is suppose to be better this weekend.  So I am going to enjoy...

1.  Being with my family.
2.  Downtown in the Big City
3.  Dinner with our church family on Sunday.  I am making Southwestern Bean Soup.  It is to die for!
4.  A movie, not sure which one though.

Enjoy the Friday Five

I was so busy at work and at home that I really apologize for not posting yesterday. Not that anyone out there (all five of you) really minded.

So I am going to join them together and tell you all the things I plan to enjoy this weekend, and see what comes of it.

1) I am going to enjoy seeing all Mike's family tonight and tomorrow, but I am not going to enjoy the reason (funeral).

2) I am going to enjoy seeing my first wrestling match. The school league is having an All-League Title match with 14 schools right up by where the funeral is. I enjoy supporting our athletes and school!

3) I am going to enjoy seeing the new movie Valentine's Day on Sunday. I have been dying to see this movie.

4) I am going to enjoy making a special treat for Foxy for Valentine's Day. I found a recipe for White Chocolate Raspberry Cheesecake. OMG! I may make some truffles for some friends at church too. I'll let you know how that goes.

5) Sunday night they are calling for us to get more snow. The 7+ inches have not melted, and looks like it will not for a while. So I will enjoy another round of snow. Most people around here are ready for it to leave. Not me! I want it to last a while longer. I know, I know. I am weird.

Have a great weekend. Spend it with the one you love!

I Enjoy Talking With Her

Daughter is just full of good, little funny stories. Last night after choir practice, we went past the BMV (Bureau of Motor Vehicles) to get actual times it is opened and closed and when. We found out that it closes at 5 PM Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday; 6:30 PM on Tuesday, and
2 PM on Saturday. So we were discussing when would be the best time for her to take her test. I don't get off until 5 PM and Foxy works until late, so tonight isn't it. Foxy is off tomorrow, so maybe right after school tomorrow (but then there is the threat of the impending winter storm coming; if it is just rain, then okay, but if the freezing rain and snow start...nope. So if it is bad tomorrow, then it will surely be back on Saturday AM. They are saying 3 to 6 inches. For SW Ohio that is acceptable, but not with the ice underneath.) So as we are talking about this, Daughter says, "God, why are you challenging me? Well, I accept your challenge!" I start cracking up! I so enjoy talking with her. I told her, "Oh, you are so in my blog tomorrow!" Then Son piped up from the backseat and said, "Don't put me in your blog." Oh, I just did, Son. So there!

Thursday is my day to list what I have enjoyed this week. Here we go!

1. I have enjoyed reading my new friend's emails. She is a Major stationed in Afganistan and each week she send an email about her weeks. Tomorrow I will probably put more about her because of the way we met.

2. I enjoyed the danishes and donuts my co-worker brought in to celebrate his birthday. I had a danish that was shaped as a figure 8. One side was filled with apricot jam. The other side has a glaze on it (I am saving it for tomorrow or later).

3. I am enjoying cd I am listening to in the Edge every AM while driving to work. It is our Easter Cantata, "My Chains Are Gone". I am sure everyone that looks at me thinks I am nuts for talking to myself. I am actually singing, though.

4. I so enjoyed the last 10 minutes of 24. I do love the thrill of that show!

5. I am also enjoying getting things together so that we can have our very own Super Bowl 44 party. I always fix snacky foods and this year a sandwich ring. I will have more on that on Monday, though. GO SAINTS!

Are you Enjoying yourself?

What is to be enjoyed this week? That sounds like I am not in a good mood, doesn't it? Well, I am. It's been a crazy week, with the boy having his headaches, my friend's dad on the verge of passing, and all the craziness that just normally goes on in my life. But here is what I have enjoyed this week.

1. I have enjoyed starting a new book that one of you suggested. It is called "When We Were Romans." It is told from a young boy's perspective. Not sure where it is going yet, but I do like it.

2. I am enjoying my job today. There are lots of packages being delivered (which mean some very nice delivery men), lots of phone calls, and my attitude is just in the right place today.

3. We have had a plethora of weather this week. It was very warm early in the week and rainy, now it is cold and sunny, with a dusting of snow last night. Ah, El Nino!

I can also tell you what I am not enjoying this week.

1. My cold sores on my bottom lip. They are a nuisance and now they are drying up and bleeding. Gross!

2. I am not enjoying the fact that at 10 AM every day this week, I am getting hungry or my blood sugar level is going so low that I feel I need to eat something. Thank goodness for peanut butter/cheese crackers.

3. I am not enjoying the worry my son is causing us because of his headaches. Yesterday he told us he experienced blurred vision. Yes, we are currently seeing a Doctor for this and trying to figure out what is causing all of this. Thanks for asking.

What are you enjoying or not enjoying this week. I wanna know!

Where Is Your Enjoyment this week?

With all the horrible things going on this week,
I am struggling to find some enjoyment, but I will try.

1) I am enjoying listening to my kids tell me about their awesome trip to the Tennessee Christian Teen Convention. The picture is out the window of the van. The worst part of the whole trip for the kids was probably the winter weather, which for us Ohioans, it wasn't a problem, just they were hoping for a little warmth.

2) I am really enjoying my Ipod. I downloaded (with the boy's help) the movie, Twilight
. I have already watched it twice. I also downloaded the 24 teaser. I.CANNOT, REPEAT, CANNOT. WAIT. FOR SUNDAY EVENING!

3) I am enjoying reading everyone's posts. I don't comment on all of them, but I love reading about your thoughts, lives, opinions and just totally fun stuff!

4) I just finished a Danielle Steele book, Matters of the Heart. It was a little different for her in that as love stories go, it wasn't a love story between two people as it was on how to protect yourself. Sometimes we need to hear that.

and lastly...

5) I am enjoying keeping in touch with my friends. I have reconnected with some and trying to keep up with others.

What are you enjoying this week?

Thursday - What are you enjoying this week?

Today is What Am I Enjoying...Here is my list.

1) My new Casting Crowns and Tenth Avenue North cds! They are both really good!
2) The snow coming down is nice to see.
3) The daily routine of school and work that has begun again.
4) The books I am reading. There are three. Eclipse by Stephanie Meyer (even though I am sharing it with my son and he left it at school yesterday and they have a snow day and he won't be back at school until Monday), Matters of the Heart by Danielle Steele, and I don't remember the name of the third one.

I think that is all this week. What are you enjoying?

Recap: Enjoyment of 2009

The enjoyment I have found this week is in looking back on 2009. Here is a list of the good, the bad, the pretty and the ugly.

1. 2009 started off quiet. By March, my life was a whirlwind of doctors and medical terms because of my father's cancer.

2. Summer got underway with the kids and I was officially hired on at my company.

3. July brought our nephew's wedding and week in Alabama. We had a great time and a highlight was going to The Shed in Mississippi. If you ever get a chance to go...DO IT!

4. School started up in a flurry of band camp, football practices, high school and junior high. It was a big adjustment for all of us.

5. The fall saw a lot of football, Allie's first homecoming dance (which she looked beautiful), and news that my dad's cancer was gone!

6. Now we are at the end of the year. I pray that 2010 will bring more happiness, wealth and fun for my family and yours.

2009 was not a bad year, but a year for me to contemplate a lot of things, especially about my family. I will not predict anything, but am hopeful that the new year will bring us health, happiness and lots of adventures!
