This picture is just a few years old, maybe three.  But is it does show how much time has passed for my kids!

This is Daughter, Son and Navy Daughter.

I don't have a newer picture of Navy Daughter, but here is one just taken a few months ago of the other two.  Navy Daughter lives in Virginia. 

Wow!  What a difference in them.  She wears her hair different and he just has lost his baby fat and looks grown up.

Now for the randomness.  Last night I went out and weeded around the plants.  Here is what I found...

This is the 2nd baby watermelon!  I think I have two more starting too!

And two zucchinis and three cucumbers!  I actually threw one zucchini out because it was rotten already.  We had no idea that I had things ready.  I is so excited!

The kids came home from their trip to The Mall of America last night.  They had a fabulous trip and they brought us gifts!  Foxy got two bags of Minnesota Mosquito Bites.  LOL.  They said there was Moose Droppings, and some other weird stuff.  These are Huckleberry Jelly Beans.

In the Mall is a Bubba Gump store and restaurant.  I so want to go there!  I love seafood and I love Forest Gump!  The kids and Foxy pretty much dislike all seafood, so they didn't eat there, but Gma made them go in there and buy me a Bubba Gump t-shirt.  I will take a picture of it and model it for you next week!

Random Friday 5

Usually today is "Friday Five", but I found so many random things this morning, I am doing a Random Friday 5 blog.

1.  The high school football coach resigned yesterday.  That will upset a few people.  He has been with the program just two years.

2.  Driving in to work this AM, there was so much traffic.  When we started to get bunched up, cars were shooting in and out of lanes, jockeying for position.  It was crazy!

3.  Why did someone leave a roll of toilet paper on my desk?

4.  My new refrigerator comes this AM!  I am uber-excited!

5.  Grease is the word.  Going to see my niece in her high school production of it.

Observations of randomness

On a snowy day in SW OHIO, here are some observations.

*My children are both home because school was cancelled. Apparently, they are getting on each other's nerves. Daughter just txt me and said "Your son is outside in the snow in shorts." When I questioned her further, it was apparently for about 2 minutes because he was salting the driveway. Okay, duh. I think she is tired of him and trying to get him in trouble. He is 12 years old and knows (mostly) right from wrong. I have bigger things to worry about than his attire in this weather. If he wants to freeze his behind off, okay with me.

*My son has also decided that it is time for him to learn to cook. He helped me make the Ham and Cheese Calzones last night, and he is going to make Snickerdoodles today. He also helped with the Superbowl food. I am please to see him taking an interest in cooking. He has always been interested, but just in little parts of the process. Last night, I made him read all the directions, get things out, chop food up and see it through.

*Did you know that the Chinese New Year is Sunday, February 14? Hmm. My husband has to work, so I will have to see about making him a nice Chinese style meal, or just get take out. That would be nice for him.

*Sad news for our family. A long time friend passed away yesterday. She and her family were long-time neighbor's of my husband's family and the kids all still are close. We are sad that she is gone, but it was her time after a lengthy illness. I am expecting Foxy to be a pall bearer for the family.

*Why does the highway crews stop at the county line on the highway and not scrape the whole highway? My county does great with the care of getting the snow off the highway. The next county down, does nothing! Of course, I work in that county. So we went from 45 mpg to 20 mpg and creeped into work five minutes late. Luckily, my company doesn't get to upset at that.

*I have not observed one snowperson built. I am sure they are out there, but I have not seen any. I have seen a lot of vehicles in ditches, though.

*I have observed that more people came to work today than yesterday. I think the weather was worse yesterday, but the roads were better. I am not sure why though. If more people drive on the snow and it gets pressed down or cleared out, it should be better with more people, right? Not in Cincinnati, it seems.

*I also observed that Puxatawney Phil got.it.right!

Random Tuesday Thoughts

1. I cried this AM because I found out Patrick Swayze died.
2. My boss is back from vacation.
3. Why does it seem that I have been in a depressed mood for the past 2 days?
4. My closest friend has the cutest BF.
5. For the second time this year, the remote in the conference room has gone missing. WTF?
6. If Helen Keller fellin the woods, would she make a sound?
