Garden Update

It's been so hot and having sprained ribs has been an issue, so being out in the garden hasn't happened much for me.  Here are some pictures of how nice things are progressing.

Here is the watermelon.  No fruit yet, but lots of blooms!

Radishes are going strong!

This volunteer tomato plant is getting tall.

Another volunteer with peppers in the background.

These peppers look great!

I have two cabbage plants grown.

You can't hardly see, but this is a cucumber plant.  There are several shoots starting to grow.

Here is my first zucchini of the season.  Isn't it beautiful?

This is a lone chili pepper plant.  So lonely, but sprouting good long peppers.

And here is one of several tomato plants.  Can't wait to eat these!

So, how is your garden doing?  I need to weed.  I hope I can.get in there this weekend!

  1. Things are growing great.

Our garden is doing great - have cut cilantro and parsley a ton already. My tomatoes are just getting blooms (we started late) and other stuff is starting to show signs of something.

We water every evening....and so far so good!

  2. Looks fantastic! I am jealous. Typically, I plant a garden; however, I knew this summer with a new baby (and four young kiddos period) I wasn't going to have the time to devote to it. Fingers crossed I can get back into it next summer.

    Great job!

  3. I'm just going to have to live vicariously through you. Our backyard (New Orleans) is all brick! It's really more like a courtyard than a backyard - but the kids love it because they can ride their bikes there - LOL! Thanks for the trip down memory lane... both of my grandmothers (now in heaven) had gardens and it was always a family thing to come and snap peas or shuck corn together!

You're doing great! Keep up the beautiful job!

  4. Mine is full of weeds, overgrown, and dying of heat and thirst!

  6. The heat here doesn't allow for much gardening. Container gardening is pretty much the way we go. We have some tomato plants that are big and green but producing nothing. I tried to do watermelons from seed once but only got giant leaves out of it. Your garden looks fantastic!!!
